ELEMENTS OF EFFECTIVE INSTRUCTION
Development and implementation of effective lessons that are centered around a content-specfic framework such as the 5E Learning Cycle and adress rigor, relevancy, checking for understanding, and student engagment.
INTEGRATION OF TECHNOLOGY
Provide opportunities for content application using web-based resources as well as strategies that allow students to communicate, collaborate, and create using technology-based resources.
LITERACY INTEGRATION
Implementation of reading strategies that build comprehension, writing strategies before instruction, during instruction, for reflection and assessment, as well as interactive notebooking (digital and paper-bound).
ABOUT ME
I am a passionate science educator with over 25 years experience teaching middle school science and biology, and 7 years of service at the district (science consultant and instructional coach) and state (writing team for SC Standards and Performance Indicators for Science and accompanying support documents, state science leadership organization) levels.
